Danilo Rossello - Pizza Chef
"Vivi e lascia vivere (Live and let live) & Mai arrendersi (Never give up)"
Danilo started working for the Fraternity Club in November 2017, before Il Bene officially opened. During his first 3 months, he helped collaborate with the Directors, General Manager and Head Chef to create Il Bene Pizzeria and Gelato Bar. Danilo has played an integral role in developing the incredible family friendly atmosphere and the best pizza in the Illawarra.
Originally from Santa Ninfa, a small town with only 5,000 people, West of Silicy in the province of Trapani. Danilo developed his love of cooking from a young age. He used to spend hours in the kitchen with his mother helping make traditional Italian meals for the whole family to enjoy.
Danilo quickly learnt that he was passionate about food and decided to get a job in the industry shortly after, starting out as a dish washer. Whilst in the kitchen he absorbed everything around him, taking an interest in how the chef’s conducted their work. Before long, he moved on to helping them cook and began specialising in creating magnificent and delicious pizza. Danilo has now been working in the restaurant business for over 15 years. Each day is a new adventure which has new challenges.
Outside of the kitchen, you can find Danilo spending time with friends and family, enjoying a barbeque and taking care of his vegetable garden. He is generous with his time and will do what he can to help others. Danilo’s parents showed him the joy you can find in helping those less fortunate, even with a small gesture. Danilo always going above and beyond to make people smile.
Claudio Russomanno - Pizza Chef
"Focus on the solutions, not the problems"
Claudio joined the Fraternity Club as a Pizza Chef in November 2018. Born in Soverato, Italy he moved to Australia in 2012 to have a better future. When he arrived in Australia, he worked a number of pizza restaurants for 3 years whilst also traveling around the country as a pizza chef trainer and consultant. After a few years, Claudio decided to take on a new challenge here in Wollongong in the club industry, the idea of living in a coastal city whilst following his passion was too hard to resist.
Claudio has followed in his mother’s footsteps and become a chef. He has been working in the industry since he was 13, where he started to develop his love of cooking. Claudio has a deep love of learning about food. He studied at the Associazione Pizzerie Italiane where he refined his pizza cooking skills. Claudio’s aim is to deliver the best quality pizza possible with consistency and professionalism.
Claudio believes food brings people together, he loves seeing big groups of friends and family come together to enjoy a meal. He is always happy to share his knowledge of food and you can often find him speaking with our members and guests (when we’re not too busy). When he’s not in the kitchen you will find Claudio having a laugh with friends, keeping fit and supporting some of the causes close to his heart, such as mental health and well-being.
